The National Premier Soccer League Announces 2020 Lone Star Conference Schedule
The Laredo Heat Open and Close Season at Home

Laredo, TX (Wednesday, March 11, 2020) – The run for a 2020 National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) Title begins and ends at home for the Laredo Heat this upcoming season.

The Heat, led by Head Coach John Powell will play in the Texas-based Lone Star Conference of the NPSL’s South Region versus teams from Midland-Odessa, Ft. Worth, Denton, Temple, Austin and Brownsville.

As in previous years, the Heat will play their home games on the beautiful grounds of Texas A&M International University. Kick-off for all home games will be 8:00 P.M. CST.

Laredo will open the 2020 NPSL Regular Season versus the defending Lone Star Conference Champion Ft. Worth Vaqueros on Friday, May 15, 2020.

In total, the Gateway City soccer club will play a total of six games at home and six games away from Laredo during the regular season.

“After last season’s disappointing season in which we did not make the playoffs, only the second time since 2005, we are looking forward to the excitement of making a run in the conference and getting into the playoffs”.

Vaswani concluded, “Heat fans, as well as supporters of sports and our community, make plans to make it out to a game or two, maybe all six home games this summer, I promise that the weather is very pleasant out at TAMIU and with kick-offs at 8:00 P.M., the sun has set and it makes for a beautiful evening for families or a perfect outing to go hang out with friends…plus the soccer will be top-notch”.

Lone Star Conference Playoff Structure:

The top four teams from the regular season (based on league points and league published tiebreakers) will qualify for the Lone Star Conference Playoffs, scheduled for Thursday, July 9th (Conference Semi-Final) and Saturday, July 11th (Conference Final). The # 1 seeded team will act as the host of the Lone Star Conference Playoffs (the # 1 seed may allow, if they wish, the # 2 and # 3 Semi-Final Game to be played in another market if both the # 2 and # 3 seeds are from the general area, ex: Ft. Worth / Denton). Regional Semi-Finals and Finals plus National Semi-Finals will be played in subsequent weekdays and weekends with the NPSL National Championship scheduled for Saturday, August 1, 2020.

About the NPSL
The National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) is the successor to the Men's Premier Soccer League (MPSL), which was formed in 2002. The league started in the West Region with teams from the Northern California area. In 2005, the league expanded to a national format with the introduction of a Midwest region. The NPSL expanded further in 2007 by adding a Northeast region. In 2011, with the addition of a Southeast region, the National Premier Soccer League has truly become a nationwide league. In 2014, NPSL became the largest national soccer league in the US Soccer development pyramid with over 80 teams all over the country. New teams seeking membership into the NPSL are subject to approval by existing team owners.

La Temporada De Apertura Y Cierre De Laredo Heat En Casa

Laredo, TX (Miércoles 11 de marzo de 2020) – La carrera por un título de la Liga Nacional de Fútbol Premier 2020 (NPSL) comienza y termina en casa para el Laredo Heat esta próxima temporada.

El Heat, dirigido por el entrenador John Powell, jugará en la Conferencia Lone Star de la Región Sur de la NPSL, con sede en Texas, contra equipos de Midland-Odessa, Ft. Worth, Denton, Temple, Austin y Brownsville.

Como en años anteriores, el Heat jugará sus juegos en casa en los hermosos terrenos de la Universidad Internacional Texas A&M. El inicio de todos los juegos en casa será a las 8:00 p.m. CST.

Laredo abrirá la temporada regular NPSL 2020 contra el campeón defensor de la conferencia Lone Star Ft. Worth Vaqueros el viernes 15 de mayo de 2020.

Estructura de los playoffs de Lone Star Conference:

Los cuatro mejores equipos de la temporada regular (según los puntos de la liga y los desempates publicados por la liga) calificarán para los playoffs de la Conferencia Lone Star, programados para el jueves 9 de julio (semifinal de la conferencia) y el sábado 11 de julio (final de la conferencia). El equipo sembrado # 1 actuará como el anfitrión de los playoffs de la Conferencia de Lone Star (la semilla # 1 puede permitir, si lo desean, jugar el juego semifinal # 2 y # 3 en otro mercado si tanto el # 2 como las semillas # 3 son del área general, por ejemplo: Ft.
