Laredo Heat Announce First Player Commitment for the 2021 NPSL Season

California Native is Well Known to the Coaching Staff, Had Committed to Play in Laredo in 2020

Laredo, TX (Friday, February 12, 2021) – The Laredo Heat Soccer Club is pleased to announce their first player to commit to put on the Red and Black this upcoming 2021 National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) Season in the Gateway City.

Adrian Yepez, the Hilmar, CA native has accepted Coach Powell’s invitation to head to Laredo this coming summer to play for the Heat as they prepare to challenge for the NPSL’s Lone Star Conference Title and make some noise come playoff time.

Yepez, a standout midfielder at California State University Stanislaus, has been the team captain the previous two years and has been a three-year starter for the Warriors.

In addition to his college experience, Yepez also played three years with the San Jose Earthquakes – East Valley Club (the Regional Academy of Major League Soccer’s San Jose Earthquakes) in which he led as a captain all three years he played there and assisted the club in becoming the West Region Champion and State Runner-Up twice.

“To sign a player of Adrian’s quality is a huge step in the right direction for our organization”, said Heat Head Coach John Powell.

“Yepez is a player that I have worked with since he was 15 years old and he is the epitome of what we want here in Laredo, he is technical, clean on the ball and has a fantastic soccer IQ, he is intrinsically motivated and true competitor”.

Coach Powel concluded, “On the pitch, Yepez will bring a dynamic playing style and give everything he has for the Heat and the City of Laredo”.

Yepez added, “I am looking forward to this summer and meeting my new teammates and the club administration and to start making memories, I am the type of person and player that gets along with everyone and I am happy to be playing in Laredo this summer and taking the steps to move on to the next level, I feel the Heat coaching staff and the organization can help me and the other players do that”.

Adrian Yepez, nativo de Hilmar, CA, aceptó la invitación del entrenador Powell de ir a Laredo el próximo verano para jugar para el Heat mientras se preparan para competir por el título de la Conferencia Lone Star de la NPSL y hacer algo de ruido cuando llegue el tiempo de los playoffs.

Yepez, un destacado mediocampista de la Universidad Estatal de California Stanislaus, ha sido el capitán del equipo los dos años anteriores y ha sido titular durante tres años con los Warriors.
