The National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) Announces 2021 Conference Schedule
The Laredo Heat Open on the Road, Close at Home

Laredo, TX (Monday, March 15, 2021) – After a season of no summer soccer in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the run for the 2021 NPSL Title begins on the road in Temple, Texas and ends at home for the Laredo Heat Soccer Club.

Laredo led on the field by Head Coach John Powell and Assistant Coach Roger Bonilla will once again play in the Texas-based Lone Star Conference of the NPSL’s South Region. Teams in the Lone Star Conference are from Midland-Odessa, Ft. Worth, Irving, Denton, Katy, Temple, and Brownsville.

The Heat will once again play their home games on the beautiful Texas A&M International University campus. Kick-off for all home games will be at 8:00 P.M. CST.

Laredo will open the 2021 NPSL Regular Season on the road as they will travel to Temple, TX to take on the Coyotes FC on Saturday, May 15th.

In total, the Gateway City soccer club is scheduled to play a total of five games at home and five games away from Laredo during the regular season. Of note, the Heat, as well as the other Lone Star Conference teams will play versus each other at least once during the season and the top four teams will advance to the conference playoffs.

“We are excited to get back on the field to play soccer after the 2020 season was cancelled due to the pandemic and we are looking forward to 2021 under the direction of Coach Powell, I know that he, along with his staff continue to prepare diligently for the season and are recruiting the type of players needed for the grind of an NPSL summer season”, said Heat Owner Shashi Vaswani.

“Heat Fans, as well as supporters of sports and our community, make plans to make it out to a game or two, maybe to all five home games this summer and as I do every summer, I promise that the weather will be pleasant at the TAMIU game field”.

Vaswani concluded, “The last season we played, which was in 2019, we did not make the playoffs and last summer we did not play, we are so looking forward to playing the beautiful game again and bring the excitement of making a run in the conference and getting into the playoffs…after a year of being inside, come hang out with us and your friends, the soccer will be top-notch”.

El Laredo Heat abre de visitante y cierra en casa.

Laredo, TX (lunes 15 de marzo de 2021) – Después de una temporada sin fútbol de verano en 2020 debido a la pandemia de Covid-19, la carrera por el título NPSL 2021 comienza de visitante en Temple, Texas y termina en casa para el Club de fútbol Laredo Heat.

Laredo liderado en el campo por el entrenador en jefe John Powell y el entrenador asistente Roger Bonilla jugará una vez más en la Conferencia Lone Star de Texas de la Región Sur de la NPSL. Los equipos de la Conferencia Lone Star son de Midland-Odessa, Ft. Worth, Irving, Denton, Katy, Temple y Brownsville.

El Heat volverá a jugar sus partidos en casa en el hermoso campus de la Universidad Internacional Texas A&M. El inicio de todos los partidos en casa será a las 8:00 p.m. CST.

Laredo abrirá la temporada regular de NPSL 2021 de visitante ya que viajarán a Temple, TX para enfrentarse al Coyotes FC el sábado 15 de mayo.

En total, el club de fútbol Gateway City está programado para jugar un total de cinco partidos en casa y cinco fuera de Laredo durante la temporada regular. Es de destacar que el Heat, así como los otros equipos de la Conferencia Lone Star, jugarán uno contra el otro al menos una vez durante la temporada y los cuatro mejores equipos avanzarán a los playoffs de la conferencia.

“Estamos emocionados de volver al campo para jugar fútbol después de que se canceló la temporada 2020 debido a la pandemia y esperamos con ansias el 2021 bajo la dirección del entrenador Powell, sé que él, junto con su personal, continúan preparándose diligentemente para la temporada y estamos reclutando el tipo de jugadores necesarios para la rutina de una temporada de verano de NPSL”, dijo el propietario del Heat, Shashi Vaswani.

“Los fanáticos del Heat, así como los fanáticos de los deportes y nuestra comunidad, hacen planes para asistir a uno o dos juegos, tal vez a los cinco juegos en casa este verano y, como lo hago todos los veranos, prometo que el clima será agradable en el campo de juego de TAMIU”.

Vaswani concluyó: “La última temporada que jugamos, que fue en 2019, no llegamos a los playoffs y el verano pasado no jugamos, estamos ansiosos por jugar el hermoso juego nuevamente y traer la emoción de hacer una carrera en la conferencia y llegar a los playoffs… después de un año de estar adentro, ven a pasar el rato con nosotros y tus amigos, el fútbol será de primera”.
