Laredo welcomes Houston at TAMIU Soccer Complex

The Laredo Heat SC is hosting its first ever Women’s Professional Soccer League home match at 8 p.m. Saturday as it takes on the Houston Futsal Soccer FC at the TAMIU Soccer Complex.

Admission to Saturday’s inaugural home match is free and open to the public.

“It has long been a dream of ours to feature a women’s soccer team, and it has been a thrill seeing everything come together this summer,” Laredo Heat SC Vice President Priya Vaswani said. “The team has continued to grow together through the first half of the season, and we are excited for them to have the opportunity to experience playing at home for the first time.”

The Heat experienced all three results as they played the first half of the season on the road. After opening with a 4-2 victory against the San Antonio Corinthians, Laredo played to a 1-1 draw against the Austin Roots FC and fell 3-1 against the S.A. Blossoms.

Following Saturday’s inaugural home match, the Heat will also host a pair of rematches welcoming the Roots on July 2 and the Corinthians on July 6 to close out the regular season.
