Heat's U21 WPSL team posts first clean sheet

The Laredo Heat SC U21 WPSL team posted its first clean sheet and improved to 2-2-1 in its debut season Saturday with a 4-0 victory over the Austin Roots at the TAMIU Soccer Complex.

Laredo boosted by Bargallo's second-half brace

Saturday marked the second victory and the first clean sheet in the debut season of the Laredo Heat SC U21 team in the Women’s Professional Soccer League as it won 4-0 over the Austin Roots at the TAMIU Soccer Complex.

The victory was the second home game of the season. The Heat improved to 1-1-0 at home and 2-2-1 overall heading into the final match of the regular season.

Laredo was led by Cio Bargallo who recorded a second-half brace. The dominant performance on offense and defense from the Heat improved their goal differential from minus-1 to plus-3.

The Heat close out the regular season Wednesday hosting the San Antonio Corinthians at 8 p.m. at the TAMIU Soccer Complex. Laredo won 4-2 when the teams met in San Antonio on May 14 in the season opener. Admission to the match is free and open to the public.
