Due to expected inclement weather connected to a tropical storm in the Gulf of Mexico, the Laredo Heat SC home match scheduled for Wednesday, June 19 against Austin United FC has been rescheduled.
The Heat will now face Austin at 7:45 p.m. on Saturday, June 29 at PEG Energy Stadium. Any tickets purchased for the June 19 game will be honored on June 29.
Anybody who purchased tickets but will be unable to attend on June 29 is asked to email Vaswanifamily@about-time.com.
With the postponement, the Heat now turn their focus to their final road match of the regular season traveling to face FC Brownsville at 7:15 p.m. on Saturday, June 22 in a battle between teams in playoff position in the NPSL’s Lone Star Conference.
Following a narrow 1-0 road loss against the Denton Diablos FC last Saturday, the Heat (4-1-1, 13 points) are one point behind the Diablos (4-0-2, 14 points) at the top of the table. Brownsville (3-1-2, 11 points) is close behind as it comes off a 2-1 victory over Austin.
The postponement means the Heat will close out the regular season with three straight home matches in the span of a week with all three beginning at 7:45 p.m. at PEG Energy Stadium located at 5020 Town Ctr. Ct. across the street from Laredo International Airport. Laredo hosts the Lubbock Matadors on June 27, Austin on June 29 and Brownsville on July 3.
